Evaluation Question 2 - Jacqueline
How effective is the combination of your main product ancillary texts?
The main product and the ancillary text work well together because we ensured to keep the theme consistent throughout the Website, Double Page Spread and the Newspaper Advertisement. The purpose of in cooperating marketing and branding contributes in the combination being well suited as it highlighted what we needed to consider during the production of the main products. For instance the target audience research showed us the type of people we are making for which is important as it indicates the type of colours, fonts, images and genre we must include; such as the yellow and black colour scheme was being passed through the different products. With this we used these features and put them through into the main product and showed these characteristics within the text. The graffiti and bold type of text used on the main website gives evidence to this as it is reflective of the urban, young and vibrant personalities of our target audience. Therefore we showed these elements throughout the main products. In addition to this, we used marketing to analyse and investigate what is already on the market. By doing this we collected the main conventions and tried to consistently demonstrate them through the three main products. For example our market research showed us that products by the same company tend use similar models or pictures of similar natures as the main image to show continuity. This is represented in our products as we used striking images throughout especially in the newspaper advert. Also the model used on the double page spread is also shown on the website which allows the reader to feel a sense of recognition between the products.
With reference to branding, we placed the logo of the music channel which is the name of the company in a particular font, on all of the items. We also used the same colour of the logo on all the products to show cohesion. This indicates that the combination of the main products is effective as there is a clear flow shown within the products which will not confuse the reader. When looking at the construction of the products, they really highlight our consideration of the target audience. This is because our target audience questionnaire highlighted that young people preferred products that were predominantly picture based. With this in mind, all three of our products consisted of main images that filled most of the space of the pages. By doing this this it will attract them more.

Client Feedback: Final Product - Jacqueline
I really like the final products by Jacqueline and Priscilla. I think that it could pass for an actual media product of a music website. The colour schemes are very vibrant and attractive so it can easily catch the attention of young people. Also I like the videos and especially the throw back on the home page.
The double page spread is really simple and straight to the point which is what I like. Also the newspaper advert uses a very striking image which is really and uses diverse and contrasting colours.

I really like the videos that have been added to the website as they make the website conform very well due to the multimedia factors on each page. I also like how they kept the yellow and black colour scheme on the home page so now even I'm able to familiarise the colours with the product. Even though the black and yellow colour scheme is kept on the homepage, I like the way the colours alternate on each page so it gives the whole website a theme. On the double page spread, I really like how they have used a young person as it highlights the target audience very well and when it comes to the advert, the art in the background really pleasesv me in the way it uses such 'out there' colours.

Final Product: Double Page Spread Analysis - Jacqueline and Priscilla
Here is the double page spread which we have created to help promote our TV channel. For this we have chosen to use a picture of someone who we would regard as a celebrity on the website. Using a celebrity here would attract more of an audience as they are seeing someone very well known in link with an upcoming TV show for the youth increases our audience as well as our fan base. For the writing area, we decided that we wouldn't write a lot as it is just to promote the the launch of the TV show and they would not want to read lot, therefore we broke down everything and just focused on things such the TV shows we will be showing and main presenters. Again, we have kept the colour scheme of black and yellow as the audience will slowly start to realise them as our product colours.

Chosen Image for Advert - Priscilla
This is our final chosen picture for the advert, promoting the new TV channel. We decided to pick this image as it looks very urban because of the colours which have been picked on the background as well as the style of the painting. Furthermore, the painting is an original painting, and can be used in link to one of our TV shows promoting expression through visual art.
Treatment - Jacqueline
The website will focus mainly on music but will have other forms of entertainment such as TV shows. It will be split up into 6 categories which will "Home" where a little bit of everything on our website would be, "music". Which will include the most recent forms of musical entertainment, "Shows" which will have a current TV schedule of programmes which are about to show, "Downtown" which will have the latest in South London, a gallery of all recent photos of events and a News page informing on what goes on in the entertainment industry.The double page spread will be used to promote and talk about this new TV channel. It will consist of mostly images as this is what we found in our research and text will be presented in columns. The newspaper advert will be used as promotion for our TV channel. It include one striking image and the name of the brand. We will also show the theory of convergence by including social networking icons, giving the audience a choice to interact.

Proposal - Priscilla and Jacqueline
When looking at the research that Priscilla and I have produced on listing magazine double page spreads, music websites and newspaper advertisements we have decided to create these products for a ‘Hip Hop and Urban’music channel. We have decided to use this genre of music as our focal point because when after conducting our target audience survey we realised that ourmost popular audience was the young adults who are keen in modern music such as Urban and some Hip Hop. Therefore we are going to combine the elements of both Hip Hop and Urban music into our music channel. The results of the survey also suggest to us that we should make these products attractive to both males and females as our audience is evenly distributed between the genders.
We intend for our website to be very engaging with it audience so we plan to include many images as it what our audience prefer. In addition we include images of celebrities throughout the three products to create a sense admiration as the audience would gain comfort and recognition as they feel familiar with the icon. The newspaper advert would include limited text as readers interact with it more when the images are striking and the colours are bold. As well as this the logo of the music channel will be present on the advert and we will try and use text font types that will be simple but also attracting so that the focus is not taken away from the main image. The double page spread will also consists of large images with writing in the structure of columns
